In 1998 we converted to organic
methods out of a desire for durable winegrowing, a respect for “terroir”
and in response to the vision we have for AOC wines.
Over a three-year period, a number of techniques that we had already begun
to use were extended across the whole estate. These included working the
soil, choosing natural products for protecting the vines and using organic
compost to put life back into the soil. At the end of this conversion
period, our wines were certified from the 2002 harvest as being the product
of working methods that complied with the main principles of organic farming,
i.e. no GMO, no phytosanitary products, no chemical fertilisers and no
weed-killers.
